Will Gmail host your Domain email as well now?
While having checked the new Gmail + Gtalk chat feature integratino within Gmail, I started pondering how fantastic tool Gmail is becoming. And after they have Calendar feature integrated within Gmail, it will be more then fantastic!
This made me think that there are chances that Google will start offering their Gmail services to domain owners who want to host their email on Google Servers using Gmail feature. Wow this can be a smart move (and probably it will be coming soon I think). So not only Google will make their dream come true about indexing all the information in the world, they might be hosting about 25% of the information on their servers (well with the new Google Desktop Search tool, won't they be indexing a lots and lots of information and storing it on their servers?). So what might be next, Google will start offering Domain registration services as well (It became Domain registrar in 2005 I think).
Next I think it should also give the facility of searching my search history on Google from within Gmail service itself. OK, OK now this does not make Gmail just an email service, it becomes a lot more then that ( I shout again, where's Google Calendar!). There are so many other posibilities, but let's wait and see what comes next.
By the way, Microsoft is also in plans of hosting Domain email on their www.live.com site. But I don't think Microsoft will be as fast as Google to integrate all their services together, who knows they just might beat Google some where!
I see that Garett Rogers of ZDNet is thinking along the same lines as I do. Well he did see at the source code underneath Gmail, and I did'nt :).
