Yet another start page

Alright, we have one more website on the scene. What is it? It called ItsAStart.com. Ok, it's a start page like netvibes, Google Personalised Page, Microsoft Live. What does it do differently, don't know really. Ya, one good thing, the site does not make it compulsary to enter our email address ;). Well good luck to the developers behind this site, but if you are going to do something different, make that feature show up first in the row so people try to remember this website and keep on using it. OK, does anybody else see how is this site really different from many other start up web sites? Technorati Tags: , ,

I finally scored Windows Messenger Live invitation

I was chatting to my friend Umesh (for mysake update the blog please) after a long time today when we started talking about Live.com . He asked me if I had tried Windows Messenger Live yet and I said "No". After few give and take of IM messages, I recieved an invite to Windows Messenger Live. So far having fun. I love the interface colors and the fact that I can change the color of the skin :). Although I will write more about Windows Messenger Live later on after using it a bit more then I have, but I definately hate the side tabs which takes me to services and sites linked with Microsoft. Please, take it off, thanks but no thanks, we don't need them really. Just incase if you want to keep them, allow us that we can put our own content there as well, so atleast we can up our content in the tab lists and see things that are more relevant to us. Also, that way you guys can force me to use a bit of IE if you want to ;). Technorati Tags: , , ,

Bloggers don't like what they see at Google Videos

Google Videos is out to public and ofcourse still in beta. According to the early reviews Bloggers are not happy with what they saw at Google Video store. This reminds me of the post that I read yesterday at TechCrunch of not blowing away the beta. I agree Google Videos does not look to be a "even in a beta" release yet. I checked it for myself and tried quite a few different things from the menu for the video store and all it came up is a message that "Your search - in_label:tvshow=NCIS did not return any results. Suggestions: - Make sure all words are spelled correctly. - Try different keywords. - Try more general keywords. ". The other thing I can bitch about is it's only open to US Credit card holders. Why the hell should I talk about this when it is not even available to the Australian Credit card holders! But on the positive note I am sure that Google will improve on Google Videos as it has for most of it's excellent products! But hey Google, ofcourse you intend to generate revenue from Google Videos but where is the asked for product Google Calendar? People have been expecting Google Calendar more then this crap which I cannot use yet!! Technorati Tags: , , ,

Yahoo Email adds support for "." in their email

I logged on to my Yahoo Mail today to find out that now we can have "." in a Yahoo email address. So now I can have an email address of AB.CD@yahoo.com (this is not my real address). That's good and the second good thing is that I can add an additional Yahoo email address to my existing profile. Below are the details:
Create an extra email address. Now you can have a second Yahoo! email address to use just like your first. And since we're now allowing the dot "." in email addresses, you can get more creative with your address. Go ahead, create one and use it to send email, sign in, whatever. It's yours. You can also use one of your existing profiles for an extra address. However, you can only have one extra address.
With this I can either login as my primary email address using my password or I can login using my secondary email address using the same password as my primary email. OK, this is somewhat cool but not a big deal. But this addition is welcome. I think email users are way faster, they did not add this functionality to my email address last night when I checked it out. This morning when I logged in, I got this option and the email address I wanted with my first.last name was already taken! UPDATE: Rush guys before the personalised email address with an "." in it is taken by somebody else. Go to http://edit.yahoo.com/config/list_alias?.src=ym&.intl=us page and get it now. Windows Messenger Beta invite wanted

Hello Guys, anybody around who can extend me the invite to Windows Messenger Beta? I would like to test out the new features. By the way, I have been trialing with their Windows Live Mail and it's fun so far compared to the features we had in Hotmail email! I have one invite left for Windows Live Mail too, but I don't think when I send the invitation to the people, they are getting the link to sign up in it. Can anybody help? I did send this as feedback along with my email address, but I am sure the guys at Windows Live Mail team are enjoying Christmas. Technorati Tags: , , ,

Find things to add to Google using Google Modules site

Google is keeping some people busy. I use Google Personalised page a lot and lately people have been creating personalised modules that Google users can add to their personalised page.Phillip Lennssen and Alex Ksikes have created a site called Google Modules which is a directory of modules that can be added to Google. I haven't seen such a directory from Google so far (have I missed much? ). The directory has some really neat modules but unfortunatley I won't really use them. I am lookin g for even neater and better modules. The only module that I am using for now is from T David's which is a poker game (is that what's it called? ). Here is a RSS feed for the latest modules on Google Modules. Technorati Tags: , , ,
